Nokia 808 PureView: 41 Megapixel Camera: Breaking the code

Behold the new camera revolution!

Enter the Nokia 808 PureView

Did we just got high?
Lets first find out if this baby is worth your money!

The new Carl Zeiss 41MPix sensor was revealed by Nokia in MWC2012 recently and its creating vibes. Many people have even complained of a typo, they think Nokia mistakenly wrote 41MPix instead of 14MPix. First thing, its actually 41MPix auto focus sensor under the hood.

Sensor specifications:

41 megapixel camera sensor with Nokia Pureview Pro imaging technology and Carl Zeiss optics
Fullscreen 16:9 viewfinder with easy on-screen touch controls
Xenon flash with operating range up to 3.5 m depending on conditions. Automatic fill-flash
LED for video recording
Focal length: 8.02 mm (35 mm equivalent focal length -26 mm, 16:9 / 28 mm, 4:3)
Auto focus and touch to focus
Focus modes: Hyperfocal, Macro, Infinity and Auto
Focus range: 15 cm ~ infinity
Macro focus 15-50 cm
F number/aperture: F2.4
Supported aspect ratios and resolutions True 16:9 (2 MP, 5 MP [Default], 8 MP, 41 MP) 4:3 (3 MP, 5 MP, 8 MP, 41 MP)
Three shooting modes: Auto, Scenes, Creative
Face detection software
Launch camera from lock with full press of capture key

Its a pretty impressive sensor. If you take a 5MPix image with it, you get a lossless zoom up to 12X!
Its a new research by Nokia. No loss of details like in case of Digital zoom and no waste of space in case of optical zoom.
The effective resolution is maxed at 38MPix. Video recording is up to 1920x1080p at 30FPS. Impressive!

Now comes our concern.

1. It has a 1.3Ghz ARM11 SINGLE core processor

-Our Concern: With such huge image processing demands, we have to see how much justice this single core processor does. Nokia claims to have topped its device with an image processing unit right into the camera module and a powerful GPU so that the gigantic image processing can be done with an ease. We will see that!

2. Nokia finally goes for 4 inches screen!

- Our concern: Its a welcome improvement, but, the screen resolution remains at 640x360 pixels that gives it a pixel density of ~184ppi! HTC Wildfire S has a pixel density of ~180ppi and we are not much impressed with that, but no complains as its an entry level phone. This phone is a high end phone with an expected price of 450 Euros!

3. The OS of device is Symbian Belle

-Our Concern: We all agree that Symbian is not such a great OS. It has many problems like it hangs at times, it has a comparatively lesser apps in the market, Nokia is not much good at keeping devices updated. You may see one or two more OS upgrades unlike Android. We would have appreciated Windows Phone 7.5 as its OS. WP7.5 is leaner and sweet!

4. No LTE/4G
-Our Concern: Well, question is our concern! Its a 3.5G device at 14.4Mbps max data transfer speed. As its a newer device and Nokia is good at Radios, we were expecting it to have a true LTE. Disappointing!

5. An underpowered battery

-Our Concern: With 1400mAh battery, we don't think it will have enough juice to power the Xenon flash for long! Workaround: Do not use Xenon much! Ok, then why did I buy this 'Camera phone' in the first place?.

6. RAM!
-Our Concern: RAM is 512MB. Thats ok for normal devices, but a device with 41MPix camera which will have huge amount of data being processed per second ? As far as we know, this may not be enough. At least 1GB or more was needed.

7. No Adobe Flash in browser
-Our Concern: Still FlashLite! It will not give you desktop like browsing experience. It does have HTML5 though.

Final Words

The Nokia PureView 808 is a piece of extensive research done by Nokia. Its 41MPix camera is a real revolution and a definite looker, but we will have to wait and see the real device before giving our final verdict.
For now we suggest you to wait till its released and becomes bit used in the market, you will get an idea of its success or failure.

As of now, What The Fun words:

"Nokia 808, mammoth riding on an old cow"

iPhone 4S: Worth buying or not?

Its been a while since iPhone 4S hit the stores. Although we were expecting an iPhone 5 but instead got the iPhone 4S.
Is it an interim model to buy time for iPhone 5?
Is it worth an upgrade?
or should you wait for the complete iPhone upgrade ?
Lets find out!

What differentiates iPhone 4S from iPhone 4?

Design

No! We have NOT mirrored the left image!
Well, as you can see and cannot see, the iPhone 4S looks exactly as the iPhone 4!
Same design and same buttons!
Although, we did see a change. The new iPhone 4S weighs 140g, that is 3 grams heavier than iPhone 4! WoW!
Hardware
Here we see a nice and welcome change.
iPhone 4/4S

                         iPhone 4S                      iPhone 4

Processor           1Ghz Cortex A9                           1Ghz Cortex A8
                             Dual core                                   Single Core

Chipset               Apple A5                                     Apple A4
Graphics             PowerVR SGX543MP2                    PowerVR SGX535

As you could have noted, we have a faster 3G but still no true LTE speeds, probably Apple reserved that feature for iPhone 5.
The major improvement is in the processor. Now we have an A5 chip over the older A4 and a Dual Core processor. This is a welcome change as all high end smartphones are going gaga over dual cores while few are moving towards quad core! (HTC One). The CPU-GPU-Chipset combo brings a decent jump in the performance. Also, now we see the iPhone doing full HD 1080p video recording!
What disappoints us is the screen size. Apple decided to stick with their 3.5 inch Retina Display when the world is seeing 5.3 inches HD Super AMOLED and 4 inch screens have become a standard size for high end smartphones.
Software
iPhone 4S brings in iOS5. This new OS can also be installed on iPhone 4 and 3GS. So, what's the big deal?
Well, there are certain exclusive features like "SIRI"
"Say a command?SIRI come to my iPhone 4.Sorry. Buy yourself an iPhone 4S!Damn!"
Thats right. No SIRI on older devices. But we are happy to see that Apple is still supporting its older devices like 3GS. Android software using companies like Samsung are good at forgetting their devices very early.
In a nutshell

Final Verdict: Should you buy?
The iPhone 4S is a very impressive device, but we believe iPhone 4S is something that iPhone 4 should have been. Now its specifications do not have a cutting edge over its competitors, its just one of the smartphones. When quad-cores will hit the market, iPhone 4S will be obsolete, just like iPhone 4 with single core in the era of dual cores.
If you can live without SIRI, and you already have an iPhone 4, we suggest you to wait for the iPhone 5.

If you don't have an iPhone, go get a smartphone"

Smartphone Buying Guide

Nowadays, buying a smartphone is no less than finding a pin from a hay stack and also paying for it!
So many options that will make you tear your hairs. Hold on! we have a quick formula to get best match for you!

Our Formula:
I. Ascertain your Gender
Probably this is NOT to decide, its pretty clear! Why I mention this?  A pink smartphone in the hands of a strong man will make him look Gay!
II. Decide what you want from your phone
Multimedia & Internet
Geekiness
Business
Show off!
Simplicity (read less productivity)
Cheap with features (forget quality)
III. Decide your Budget window
IV. Reviews
Google is your friend!
V. Buy it from an authorized dealer
VI. Send me a donut
Well you can skip this, probably you will.

Our Advice
I. Ascertain your gender

Just buying a smartphone without considering the look isn't smart! Verify that the phone will look good in your hands.
Girls: Slim profile, Light colors
Boys: Those very slim phones are a big NO NO! Dark colors will look good generally, whites are also good if the phone is bit bulky.
Women: Still, slim profile and light colors. Avoid flashy colors like pink. Stick with sober colors like shades of white, silver, light grey etc.
Men: Strong profile. Dark colors. BlackBerry Bold looks perfect for men!
II. What do you want?
---Multimedia & Internet---

Winner: Android
  1. Android (Mid to High End)
  2. iPhone 4S
  3. Windows Phone 7.5
Forget others!
---Geekiness---

Winner: Android
  1. Android (Mid and above)
  2. BlackBerry
  3. Windows Phone 7.5
---Business---

Winner: BlackBerry
  1. BlackBerry (Bold category is the best for business class)
  2. Windows Phone 7.5
Avoid 'Only' Touch Devices
---Show off!---

Winner: iPhone
  1. iPhone 3GS and above
  2. BlackBerry (Any with QWERTY)
  3. Android (Google Galaxy Nexus and freakin' High end!)
---Simplicity---

Winner: iPhone
  1. iPhone 4 and up
  2. Windows Phone 7.5
  3. Samsung BADA
Android: A no-no for those who can't differentiate between bluetooth and WiFi and are afraid of lots of features.
BlackBerry: You may find yourself lost in the menu, but with time you will find it easy! What matters is TIME!
---Cheap with features---

Winner: Android
  1. Android (Low to Mid end. Avoid buying from not so famous brands else you will be running from door to door to get your phone fixed)
  2. Symbian (Do not send us hate e-mail if your phone hangs. And we will NOT refund your money if you throw your phone in depression)

Others do not fall in this category.

III. Decide your Budget window

Well, while searching for your perfect phonemate from above description, you must have probably got an idea about how much you wish to pay. Still, empty that piggy bank and wallet, take loan from dad, or loot a friend but now fix your budget.

IV. Reviews

Google is your friend! Once you have settled down with few sets, google about the reviews and specifications. Do not read reviews on the company's own website (do I have to say that?), search on any trustworthy third party websites. This will make you select ONE out of last few!
V. Buy it from an authorized dealer
Well, this is neglected by many. But its always best to buy it from authorized dealers. Also, if you are buying online, buy it from a legitimate place. eBay is generally soaked with crackheads! Inquire before buying and abstain yourself from buying that phone at 90% off! Its never, NEVER EVER EVER! NEVER! It must be a Chinese rip off or refurbished handset, or maybe it will never reach you! Happy buying!
VI. Send me a donut

Well, you can kinda skip this!
Happy buying!
Any queries? Ask me here! I will be happy to help you out!

"You don't select a smartphone, a smartphone selects you"
P.S. Did I hear this anywhere? aaa... Never mind!

Mass Effect 3- Take the Earth back: Starting 06.03.12

Mass Effect 3
Lets take the Earth back!
Begins on 6th March 12

So, all you Shepherd fans out there (me too), the much awaited and decorated game hits next month, or say in 12 days! Coming together on PC, PS 3, and XBOX 360!
Mass Effect 3 will begin on Earth, with Commander Shepard on trial for the consequences of his/her actions in the Mass Effect 2 DLC pack Arrival. During the trial, Earth is attacked by Reapers. Faced with insurmountable odds, Shepard is forced to flee the planet in order to gather support from alien civilizations and mount a counter-attack while also having to deal with Cerberus, who have decided to turn against him/her. It is possible for Shepard to lose to the Reapers.

What is in the store?
  • Yes! Import your character from previous games and there are around 1,000 variables that will shape the story accordingly!
  • Apart from the beautiful galaxy, we fight on earth too.
  • Cover System has improved.
  • AI is meaner!
  • We get a powerful melee weapon too (I really wanted this!)
  • You can play the game at its best with all interactive dialogues, or you can choose to play it more like a shooter where most decisions are made automatically, that's not all, if you only wish to witness the game's gluing story, just play on story mode that will steer you through the game in easiest possible difficulty.
Characters:

BioWare has confirmed the return of previous characters Liara T'Soni, Kaidan Alenko or Ashley Williams, Miranda Lawson, the Illusive Man, Garrus Vakarian, Legion, Samara, Morinth, Tali'Zorah, Urdnot Wrex, Jack, Mordin Solus, David Anderson, Zaeed Massani, Kasumi Goto, Kelly Chambers, Thane Krios, Jacob Taylor and Ambassador Donnell Udina from Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2. Some characters will not return if they were killed at any point during the previous games. The number of characters available as permanent squad mates will be smaller than in Mass Effect 2 for the purposes of deeper relationships and more interesting interplay, including same-sex relationship options for both male and female Shepards. If players achieved a love interest in both Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2, then both previous love interests will be vying for Shepard's attention in Mass Effect 3. This "love triangle" will be resolved by the end of the game. BioWare has also confirmed new characters called James Vega. (voiced by Freddy Prinze Jr.) and Diana Allers (voiced by Jessica Chobot).

System Requirements
Thinking if your old PC has enough juice to run this game?
Here, the system requirements are up now!

Minimum Spec:

  • OS – Windows XP SP3/Vista SP1, Win 7
  • CPU – 1.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (equivalent AMD CPU)
  • RAM – 1GB for XP / 2GB RAM for Vista/Win 7
  • Disc Drive – 1x speed
  • Hard Drive – 15 GB of free space
  • Video – 256 MB* (with Pixel Shader 3.0 support)
  • Sound – DirectX 9.0c compatible
  • DirectX – DirectX 9.0c August 2009 (included)

 Recommended Spec:

  • OS – Windows XP SP3/Vista SP1, Win 7
  • CPU – 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (equivalent AMD CPU)
  • RAM – 2GB for XP / 4GB RAM for Vista/Win 7
  • Disc Drive – 1x speed
  • Hard Drive – 15 GB of free space
  • Video – AMD/ATI Radeon HD 4850 512 MB or greater, NVidia GeForce 9800 GT 512 MB or greater
  • Sound – DirectX 9.0c compatible
Mass effect is powered by the Unreal Engine 3 as was Mass Effect 2. It is more optimized and you need not worry if Mass Effect 2 ran well on your system then Mass Effect 3 will not be a problem. As seen earlier, Mass Effect 2 was much better performer on low spec systems than Mass Effect 1 because of its more optimized engine. Developers had much time for optimizing further, so, this should not slow down if not speed up the performance.

Compatible graphic cards:
nVidia : 7900 or better.
ATI      : X1800 or better

Excluding:
nVidia : GeForce 9300, 8500, 8400, and 8300

New Episode! Save the Girl Child: Stop female Foeticide [English]

Cases of female foeticide are increasing. Surprisingly even the educated people are involved in this heinous act!
We thought of making a short video to show how our future will become if we continue to be such idiots.
This one is made in english language so that most educated people and people across the world could understand.
We apologize for poor audio quality because we did not have proper audio gears.

We tried a comic way to show our scary future....

"I am Aditya, creator of this blog.I am fond of After Effects, Final Cut Pro X, Photoshop, and what not!I am interested in making you laugh.I am equally not interested in making you laugh on me.I am fond of, better say, addicted to PC games.I am especially fond of FPS games.I am having some free time back home right now.I am making videos because I don't have any game to play right now.I am irritated to see why CoD MW3 ended in less than a day, I paid a lot more than what I played.I am getting bored of writing this all now.I am going to stop now.I am requesting you to subscribe to our you tube channel and post back your comments.I am also saying that I don't have an AdSense account so I will gain nothing out of this but maybe in future I will get an AdSense and probably buy Google Inc. Till then, enjoy its services for free.I am going to charge you for everything when I will buy Google Inc.I am fed up.I am telling you that I know what you read first when you tried to read the channel's name first.I am telling you again to subscribe and comment, otherwise.... I will have to repeat."
